Frequently Asked Questions

How is Trade Radar different from Federal Register or CSMS email subscriptions?
Those are raw feeds: they send every notice and leave the filtering to you. Trade Radar does the translation step — each policy action is matched against the HTS codes and origin countries in your own import records before it reaches you, so every alert already pertains to your business.
How does Trade Radar match policy actions to my products?
You upload an ACE ES-003 report once. Radar stores the distinct HTS codes and countries of origin it finds — never the shipment details — and when a new policy action publishes, it prefix-matches the affected HTS ranges and countries against that portfolio. Only actions that touch your real products become alerts.
Which sources does Trade Radar track?
Three primary sources: CSMS (CBP's cargo system messages, the most operationally immediate), the Federal Register (final publication of federal rules), and White House proclamations and executive orders (the earliest signal). More sources are added as coverage expands.
How are alerts delivered?
Two channels today: the Radar feed inside CustomsGenius, and an optional daily email digest at 8am ET with critical changes sent immediately. Text message delivery is coming soon. You choose channels during setup and can change them any time in Settings.
Is Trade Radar free?
Yes. The personalized feed and email digest are free and work standalone — you don't need to use the CustomsGenius recovery tools. Most teams adopt Radar first and explore the tariff calculator or refund tooling later.
What is an ES-003 report and how do I get one?
The ES-003 is ACE's entry summary line-detail export — a spreadsheet of your filed entries with HTS codes and origin countries. Pulling one takes about two minutes in the ACE portal; see the step-by-step guide.
